    1. Haha. I know. It's such a simple thing, but it's satisfying. I think beets or tomato sauce or something really bright red and splattery was cooked in there not too long ago and it was a HOT MESS. :D So I decided to microwave a large bowl of water with some peppermint essential oil. It smelled wonderful and I used the steam and hot water and a scrubby hand towel to clean the surfaces of the microwave. There are still a few stubborn bits but overall it looks good. :D

Thanks for the kitchen compliment! I put a lot of energy in the upstairs area, particularly the kitchen/dining and the living areas. I painted murals, decorated a certain way, etc. I have pictures of various things I did somewhere-I should send you some. :D

    2. You should! I cleaned mine by putting a bowl of water with vinegar in it to steam up. I'll bet the peppermint oil smelled much better! lol

    3. Vinegar is a great cleaner! Yes, I love using vinegar and baking soda and the like too. Essential oils are wonderful. Anti-microbial and they smell so amazing. I like making my own countertop and toilet cleaners. Very easy to do and smells so great.

  2. Wow, what a fab idea, to put water and peppermint oil in the microwave. I've always just scrubbed away at it with a damp cloth, but that sounds so much nicer and more efficient!

    1. Thanks, m'dear! Yes, I love the smell. I just take a large bowl with water in it, add a few drops of peppermint essential oil, then microwave for maybe 5-6 minutes. Then you take a kitchen rag and scrub the inside of the microwave. I find it more effective to dip the rag into the hot water mixture and use that to help loosen the debris. It just makes the house smell good. :)
