Hanged Man Hiatus

I haven't felt as much like posting so I decided not to fight it. I will see you all in May. I hope you have a pleasant remainder of April!

Much Love,
MM

  1. Hi MM,
Hope your first workshop went swimmingly, and that you are finally getting some Hermit time.

    1. Yes, it went well, thankfully! Mostly good, minimum of awkwardness. :)

I am getting some time this week, yes! I am trying to enjoy it but I do have some chores I have been putting off that I had better get to today, despite sinus stuff!

    2. Glad it went well! Not that I'm surprised, I'd love to go to one of your workshops :D Sorry to hear your sinuses are still bothering you, though :(

    3. Thank you! You are so sweet. I would have loved to have you there. It was very low pressure. In fact, one of the workshops was inspired by your zen tangling. I am having a June Zen Doodling workshop. I think I have some allergy issues too with my sinus stuff. Lots of crap in the air! I am trying to take dome herbal remedies for it.

      Hugs!!!!

    4. I'd been meaning to ask how your workshop went. Congrats on getting through it. I knew you'd make the best of it :)

And what a great idea for a workshop. I love that zentangle stuff!

    5. Thanks dear Prince!

All four of the workshops are supposed to have meditative qualities to them. Funky portraits (low pressure, zany, expressionistic), mandalas (traditionally very meditative and spiritual), zen doodling (which is another meditative/zen tool), and therapeutic collage, which reminds me a lot of your soul collage stuff!

In fact, I may have to print out some of your examples to show the participants. Can I? I bet they would love them with the taglines you used. If not, that's Ok! :D

I have been devising various exercises for the workshops. For the Funky Portraits I had five exercises of varying lengths. It's a longish workshop so I have to make sure to have enough jumping off points and ideas for the students. So far it seems like it'll work out well.

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm REALLLLY behind commenting on your blog again.

      Much Love,
      MM

  2. That's really interesting. I like the therapeutic edge to this, even though each workshop is different. I guess you could roll out the most successful ones again and again. Well done you. After your worrying about teaching and what to do, this seems to be a good fit, would you agree?

Of course you can print and show the collages. I could always email you some scans, let me know. Always nice to have examples to show. And I am happy to help.

Haha, don't worry about my blog. You get down to your stuff. I read a lot of blogs but don't always comment. I know you are there :)
