Magician and the Mirror: Empowering Myself, Being Conscious

Here's a pull I just did using the Energy Oracle app on my phone.

This pull reminds me of a few things:

  • Harry Potter. The image and the description both remind me of the themes in the Harry Potter movies. Right now we're in the middle of re-watching the series. Last night we watched Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
  • Three Principles: The description very much reminds me of the Three Principles mentioned by Michael Neill and other devotees. About 20 minutes ago, I just finished listening to a radio show by this host, where he interviewed a long-time teacher of these principles. There is a very empowered sort of feeling that comes with this concept.
  • Magician in tarot: This magician does remind me of the magician in tarot. I noticed there are quite a few parallels to traditional tarot structure in this deck, which is OK.

Anyway. Those are my thoughts on this reading. It definitely reflects what I've been thinking about a lot lately. Thought, consciousness, choice, design, creating a life from the inside-out. I can tell when I start to slip into 'victim' mode, where I just feel glum about everything that happens around me, and remove myself from the concept of having any sort of power over my life. This card is one to put me back firmly at the helm of my own life.

Bone Collector Reversed: Recognizing My Wholeness

This card (isn't she wonderful?) reminds me of something I heard when listening to a Michael Neill audio book. What I heard was that we are all innately whole. None of us are irreparably damaged, and we were born whole and we remain whole. It's about returning to that state, remembering it. That's what this card feels like. The quote for it is perfect!

The reversal suggests that I have forgotten this and I tend to go into things in a 'deficit' state of mind, where I feel like I am lacking and everything I do when coming from that place of lack and low self concept is tainted by, and informed by, that idea.

Now, I don't know the exact circumstances that this card is referring to, but there may be several areas that could benefit from this remembrance of wholeness.

Another House Reading: House and Bear

I pulled this duo just now and decided to post it. I've been getting the 'House' card in Lenormand a lot lately. I suppose this makes sense, given my fixation on house-related things.

Here the House card comes paired with Bear. Bear can represent finances, mothering and protectiveness, diet and health, among other things. The simple duo I found on said this:

House + bear (15): real estate investment, buying a house, expanding a house

This would also make sense, given our current plan to sell this house and move north slightly, to the city where my daughter's school is. Even so, I've been questioning whether I should or not. Granted, I don't like that commute, but am I making an error in judgment in thinking of selling? It's a seller's market, and pickings are slim, with inventory down very, very low. Lots of competition.

My fear is that we'll sell the house but not be able to find anything very decent or in our price range. I don't want to move into a house we're settling for. But I also had it in the back of my mind that I wanted to reduce our monthly mortgage payment rather than increase. In this highly inflated market, I worry that we'll only add to our debt by moving.

Even so, so many of the readings I've been doing seem to encourage selling, and many are fairly literal about it. Some effusive in their praise of the idea. Of course, ultimately, I have to be OK with the idea to do it. I am not going blindly by what I'm seeing in the readings. On one level, they definitely represent my own psychological desires and patterns, though I do also believe they can be predictive.

Flipped the other way, the site has the cards say this:

Bear + house (4): real estate agent, house expansion

Well, haha. I am definitely not going to be expanding this house! Though, the Bear card showing protection or help from a real estate agent might be smart. Our realtor is very savvy, one of the top selling and performing realtors in the state.  I know she would look out for our best interests.

In looking at Faery Godmother Fortunes, they have this to say about the duo:

House/ Bear- an important or stately home, an official building of some sort

Anyway...that's it for now.

House, Clouds and Sun: Temporary House Problems

I don't want to jinx it, but my husband seems to have fixed the problem (for now?)

Apparently there was a root ball down there and he finally hit it with the snaking mechanism and it seemed to do the trick. Let us keep our fingers crossed. We may have to take further action later, but let us hope this works!

This is an interesting trio that I pulled a little over an hour ago. I admit I wasn't entirely sure what specific thing it could be referring to. It looked like a temporary problem with a house-related thing that would get resolved. At least that was my take on it.

Fast forward about 35-40 minutes. Just a few minutes ago my husband informed me that the sewage line was backed up. UGH. GROAN. After we finally got slightly less broke with this recent paycheck, now I'm worried that all of that money will go to fixing the sewage line. I'm in denial. My husband is looking at it now. I'm so frustrated. I've been trying to be positive about things and look at good financial solutions for things and now this? Right after I was talking about improving things?

Anyway. I guess that is all. If I have an update for this then I'll let you know.

Inspiration and Abundance: Finding Financial Mojo

Greetings, everyone, and a happy new moon in Leo to you all. I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! For my part, I am going to try to have some fun and not feel so tired and blah!

Here is the duo I pulled when asking about money and money prospects, and I thought it was lovely and simple. Inspiration is the impetus for doing something--the spark of creativity that allows us to move forward in positive and constructive ways. Abundance is that feeling that you can do anything or receive anything--it's yours for the asking.

So far today we've been working on setting things up so that we feel a lot more abundant, and far less strapped for cash. I don't want to end up like this every year, scraping by each pay check by the skin of our teeth! Like I mentioned in my post on Wednesday, I want to put savings and money management plans in place to maximize our resources.

Lots of love,

Bladder Issues: Bouquet & Scythe

So, I felt like posting!

I pulled this duo and it was a response to a query I had about my annoying bladder issue. I do have a touchy bladder in general, but this is more of an acute bladder infection type deal. It's not horrific, but it's definitely distracting. I've not had the best time health-wuse the past week or more. I got a stomach bug of sorts, and that has lingered (though it's in the very last vestiges and fading), and now I'm in the midst of a UTI. Fun times. Nausea, pee, nausea, pee...repeat.

I've been employing a number of natural remedies. I have noticed an improvement for sure. If, however, things go south I will go in to the doctor, though thankfully I have not really had to do so for a bladder infection since I am well-versed in natural cures, which are far more beneficial to the body and don't wipe out its natural defenses.

But I went ahead and did a two card pull about the infection, about whether it would end soon, and here's what this duo says (when I look at the Faery Godmother Fortunes site):

Flowers/ Scythe- a happy conclusion, something reaches culmination

I love this. I might re-word it to say, 'the gift of an ending'...which it would be!

See you next time!

Mountain and Stars: Be Back Next Week

Here's a duo I pulled: Mountain and Stars

From Faery Godmother Fortunes:

Star/ Mountain- making the most of an enforced wait, trusting that challenges and obstacles will be overcome, not letting troubles get you down

This is good advice, I reckon.

See you all soon.

Anchor & Fish: Financial Stability and Savings

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I love when a pull directly responds to a question. Honestly, though, this is true the vast majority of the time. This is a very elegant pull, though, and I love that.

Over at Faery Godmother Fortune's site, I found this brief description:

Fish/ Anchor- money is secure, a nest egg or ‘rainy day’ money

I was asking about our financial status and whether things might improve overall. And that does (largely) include things we do proactively to change things.

At first I feared that Anchor meant that things wouldn't change, since it has a very firm, stable feeling, but my sense of the reading was not negative at all. I didn't see it as saying, 'Sorry, dude, but things are not going to change financially.'

To me, I felt the meaning of having a nest egg, and building up funds was more accurate. We've been running behind over and over again each paycheck, despite my attempts to be frugal. I am going to step it up, though. Part of the issue was a need for some repairs (my car AC in upper 90's heat comes to mind), which added extra expenses to an already taxed (pun?) financial status.

I am putting into place some measures to help reduce shopping expenses, and debt in general. One that I'm implementing is no going out to eat for a good while. Not at all. We can't do it right now anyway, but even if we get money I am going to refrain from doing so, unless it's a special occasion (a birthday, for instance). Then I am going to place that money that would have been spent going out to eat in a savings account. There are several other things on the list of ideas for building up funds, some of which I took from an article on how to trick yourself into saving more money.

I am also going to use a (free) grocery delivery service where I order my groceries online and have them delivered once a week. This will cut down on the amount of grocery store visits where I tend to be far more tempted to make impulse purchases like a drink or snack (or essential oil).

Additionally, we have a couple of paychecks coming in that will have a bit more money than usual, and a bit extra from those will also be placed in savings.

Anyway. Those are just some examples of what I'm working on in this area.

Ring and House: Selling and Buying

Here's a duo I just pulled today to post on the blog. Hrm. Ring and House. I had a vague idea of what it could mean, but just for kicks, here is what says about this duo:

Ring + house (4): house purchase/sale/rental

House + ring (25): real estate contract, lease/sale of a house

Hrm. I find it odd that this would show up now, while we're on hold from selling, though my husband and I both still want to get the show on the road, despite some roadblocks. I guess we'll see.

Bear and Bat Beside Me

Here is today's draw! Of course, I tend to think of them as being an influence of several days, weeks sometimes. I received Woman, which I see as my significator card, even though I would not wear a corset. ;D She stands in the middle of the reading flanked by the Bear and Bat.

The Bear can be about protection, mothering, finances, diet/weight.

Here's the description from

Lenormand Bear Meaning
Keywords: PERSONAL FINANCES, boss, mother figure, strength, weight, diet, power.

General Description: The Lenormand Bear often comes through as your personal finances such as investments, income, and cash flow. It can also represent the head of a company or an individual’s boss.

The Bear is a card of protection, strength and power. Much like a mother bear protecting her cubs, the Bear will use its strength to protect those it holds dear. It’s for this reason that the bear can also represent a mother, grandmother, or any mother figure.

If you think of how a bear in nature depends on gorging in the Spring to survive winter hibernation, you’ll understand how the Lenormand Bear deals with health matters connected to nutrition, diet, weight gain, weight loss, and obesity

This is interesting. I think a few of these things could be relevant to me. The Bat, which is a bonus card in Shaheen's deck, is about rebirth, transformation, and then there's a mystical aspect to it--navigating the unknown, maybe with your inner sight. It's like a combination of the High Priestess and Death. Very cool, right?

In some ways, this is similar to yesterday's reading. The Seer is not too unlike the Bat, and the Bear is not too unlike the Anchor. I suppose I should think more on what this could mean.

Have a swell day,

Seer & Anchor: Finding Stable Income Intuitively

I had my hubby look at this duo and asked him what he thought. He felt it was about doing tarot readings for money. I guess I can see his point! I know there are other options, like the title of this post suggests. There may be an indication of using my intuition to navigate steady work prospects. But considering my tarot reader status, this could be a literal representation of that.

Much Love,

Hanged Man and Handout

I got bored so I decided to end my hiatus. Haha! I may not post quite as much, but I just felt like I wanted to today so what the heck? Here I am using my new Victorian Steampunk Tarot. I like this deck, but I admit I didn't realize that it was a pips deck until after I purchased it. Even so, I find it visually fun and interesting, and I don't mind the pips since I know the cards well.

One of my favorite features of this deck (rather the deck's book), is that it has an option for reading yes/no answers. It shows which cards mean no, which are neutral and then which are yes. I thought it was fun because it is similar to a method I use, but a little more defined.

The Hanged Man made me think of my blogging hiatus, but also my feeling of being 'on hold' in general. Selling the house is on hold, and creative ventures are on hold, only because I just can't think of anything I really want to do. I still feel in the midst of the Emptying the Bowl™ process, and I am not quite sure what will happen on the other end of that. But that's alright.

The Six of Pentacles makes me think of money, and how I've been trying to think of ways to save and make more money. It has been on my mind a lot. A hand up but not a hand out? Well, I might take either. LOL.

That's all for now. Have a swell day, everyone!

House & Umbrella and Be Back in August

Hello Dear Folk,

I hope everyone has had a splendid first week of July. Mine has been so-so. Not too bad, not too good. Haha. Inane comment, but it's true. I've decided to take a blogging hiatus, since I've been kinda 'meh' about blogging and I am wanting to put my energy elsewhere for a bit.

I am thinking of you all, even though I've been negligent about visiting and commenting. Sending you all beautiful mojo for the remainder of the month and lots of love.

Oh, and I'm not going to bother interpreting this since I feel it's fairly self-explanatory. At least...I hope it is.

A Rainbow Box Full of Granted Wishes

I guess I wanted a fanciful title for this positive-looking reading. I didn't ask a question--I just wanted to see what came up. I like it. I like it a lot! I've been feeling tired and stymied lately, so this reading is a breath of fresh air, even if nothing positive actually follows it.

The following is a quote from an audio book I just finished (and am listening to again today), which is 2+ hours long. It's called The Inside Out Revolution. I highly recommend it.

"You're only one thought away from happiness; you're only one thought away from sadness."

Wishing you all clear skies and good thoughts.

Tea Leaf Pull for July and August

Hello, Folks!

Well, I already did some pulls for July and August, but I decided to post this one anyway. Here's one I pulled last night (sorry about the difficulty seeing the words and inappropriate light spots), and I thought I may as well post it. I thought it might be neato keen to do two months at a time instead of one. Don't ask why. Just thought I'd try it.

Here are the cards I received, along with their brief descriptions:

Sunrise: New creative ideas, new ventures. A fresh start.
Grasshopper: Situations in the balance that require careful handling.
Hand: In need of help, assistance, guidance.
Grapes: Time to go out and have fun.
Fair Woman: Dealing or relationship with a woman with blonde, gray or white hair.
Rat: Someone working against you behind your back.
Dog: Protection from a powerful friend.
Hills: Obstacles to overcome.

O.K. Well, that's an interesting mixed bag of cards, I reckon!

Some initial impressions:

Sunrise could refer to new creative or other ideas, as I've been in the market for doing something new, although I'm not really entirely done with my Emptying the Bowl™ process. Even so, I feel that there's an emptiness that I'd like to fill, something for me to focus on. But I'm not being overly excitable or rushed about it. I'm just seeing what wants to come in.

Grasshopper is sort of a balancing act. It can be likened to the meaning of the 2 of Pentacles, where you have something that you have to handle carefully, or you have to do multiple things at once. I'm not entirely sure what this refers to. It could be anything! Of course, if we go ahead with the house thing this could be a card that would make sense in this case.

Fair Woman: I'm not quite sure who this is, but when I've used this deck in the past, it has represented our blonde realtor, who helps us with our house-related stuff. We're still trying to decide whether it's feasible to sell this year or next, and though we can't yet imagine how we might sell this year, there is always still that possibility. Alternatively, this could represent a fair-haired friend.

Actually the Hand card, indicating need for assistance, right next to the Grasshopper and Fair Woman cards, makes me think it may indeed be our realtor, as it has a professional/helper kinda feel to it. Couple that with the card above the Fair Woman, which is Hills, shows that there are obstacles to overcome.

The Dog card, combined with the Rat card, makes me think of something being somewhat underhanded--but us navigating around that with a help from a friend. Again I can't quite say what this would be, but it could make sense with the house stuff, if that is something we pursue. It sounds funny but I see the gerbils my daughter just purchased in the Rat card, just because they look so similar, so that could be a more literal thing.

I think the Grapes card is just a good recommendation, especially for summer time. The purpose of summer, for kids especially, but in general, is to try to relax and have fun. I need to remember to do this, and not get caught up too much in chores or chaos.

I will certainly try to update this reading in the next month or so. Hopefully it will make sense. :)

Happy Summer,

Rainbow and Be Back Next Week

Here's a draw I did a couple of hours ago. This is the second time I've received it in a pull since yesterday. Truth be told, I'm not entirely sure what it refers to, but I love this card! Great one.

Sending you all marvelous rainbow wishes. See you next week.

Roads and Letter: Message About a Decision

So, here's a duo I pulled, and the basic meaning seems to be either news following a decision, or maybe some news regarding a choice arriving to me. I'm not sure if this is sending or receiving.

In any case, there you go. Here are the meanings from

Crossroad + letter (27): multiple letters, news is on its way, decision brings awaited news
Letter + crossroad (22): multiple messages, message about a decision

O.K. Well, I shall try to update this one, y'all.

Lotsa Love,

The Moon and Sun: Mood Duo

I was thinking about how moody and blah I feel today, and lately in general. I pulled two Tattered Nomad Oracle cards about it, and got Moon and Sun. Gotta love those opposite readings.

My first impression of this is of duality. I can't have good moods without occasional bad moods. There's that inherent contrast that comes tied up in the mixed bag of a package that is life.

There's also a somewhat literal interpretation: Night and Day. Maybe getting plenty of sleep, and also plenty of sunshine, are both ways to naturally boost mood.

I found the combination of these two on rather weird:

Moon + sun (31): chemistry, big success
Sun + moon (32): creative success, great romance

Interesting thought about some sort of alchemy or chemistry involved in bringing different elements together.  Over at Faery Godmother Fortunes, I enjoyed this interpretation:

Sun/ Moon- an invitation to love, everything going smoothly for a while

Haha. Well. I'm not sure if these interpretations are true for my situation or not. Another one that pops to mind is that I'm on my period (Moon), and I'll probably feel better later (Sun). I think my mood issue goes beyond being on my menstrual cycle, but that certainly doesn't help.  Another possible explanation: my feelings are somewhat mysterious (Moon) but clarity will come later (Sun). In many ways, these Sun and Moon meanings are very similar to the tarot.

Sending you all good wishes,
